1540 Room is the dining room of The DeSoto hotel on Madison Square. The name points to Hernando de Soto's expedition through the Southeast in 1540 and the spice trade that followed. Chef Collin Clemons cooks seasonal Lowcountry menus from local farms, and the hotel says he was named the city's best chef less than a year after opening. Savannah Magazine readers voted it the best fine dining room in the city for 2026.
An inn with a dining room and a separate tavern that keeps its own hours. The inn says the tavern opens daily at 4pm and closes by 11pm, with food during kitchen hours.
A Bay Street wine bar named for its street number. The bar adds that 208 'symbolizes manifesting wealth and abundance' and then admits, 'It's also our address.' 45 Bistro has been the dining room of The Marshall House hotel since 2001, the third home of a restaurant Sandy Hollander has run since the mid 1980s. Eat It and Like It reported on September 14, 2026 that it will leave the hotel when the year ends ... the last service is December 31, 2026. The hotel sold on June 1, 2026 and its new owners plan to remake the space in 2027. The team has said it hopes to reopen elsewhere in Savannah. 45 Bistro is open now and has said it will leave The Marshall House on 31 December 2026.

A small Middle Eastern deli on Habersham Street. It is the top answer whenever r/savannah is asked for halal food, and locals set it against newer Mediterranean rooms as the better and cheaper plate. Commenters warn that the wait can be long and suggest ordering ahead.
Ardsley Station serves what it calls Southern comfort, refined with a modern twist, and says it partners with local farmers and vendors. The patio has a retractable roof, a fire pit and TVs for game days. Savannah Magazine readers voted it best Appetizers in 2026, tied for best Happy Hour, and named it runner-up for Business Lunch.
Kay Heritage started Big Bon in 2016 as a wood-fired pizza pop-up and grew it into a bodega serving scratch-made bagel sandwiches, Korean-inspired pizza and bowls. The shop calls itself veteran-owned and says it bakes with non-GMO flour and local honey and uses no seed oils. Its site carries a '2026 Georgia Small Business ROCK STAR' badge, and Savannah Magazine readers named it runner-up for Bagel in 2026.
Andrew and Sophie Brochu opened this room with partners Georgia and Dave Baker and Jessica Kimbrough. Andrew came back to the Southeast after more than a decade running Chicago kitchens, and Sophie is a Savannah native who came home after 13 years away ... the two met working in a Chicago restaurant. The site says the place is modeled on the family gatherings Andrew grew up with. Savannah Magazine readers named it best Oysters and runner-up for Fried Chicken in 2026. Walk-ins are welcome and it opens every day at 5.
Bull Street Taco is a taco room on Bull Street south of Forsyth Park. Savannah Magazine put it on its family dining list for the outdoor patio where children eat tacos. Two guides say the menu marks vegan and vegetarian tacos, which this research could not confirm on the venue's own menu.
Common Thread is run by the family behind FARM in Bluffton, South Carolina, the same group that later opened Flora and Fauna on Bull Street. The menu has carried dishes such as shawarma chicken and chistorra with chickpeas. Savannah Magazine readers named it runner-up for Fine Dining in 2026. Reservations are on Resy.
Cotton & Rye pairs newer cooking methods with old ones. The kitchen says it makes its own sausage and pate, bakes its breads from scratch and grinds its own meat for burgers. The room has a dining room, a covered patio and an outdoor seating area. Parties of six or more book through a request form.
Elizabeth on 37th is a long-standing dinner house in a mansion on 37th Street. Its site opens with a line from Pat Conroy about arriving there, and recommends business casual dress.
Fishbar opened in December 2025 in the former Squirrel's Pizza space, a few doors from its sister room Ukiyo. Owner Anthony Debreceny of Southern Cross Hospitality first planned another pizzeria because the oven was still there, then the team turned it toward wood-fired seafood plates. Chef Charles Alexander runs the kitchen and Maren Gudmondsson the bar. Savannah Magazine readers voted it best New Restaurant in 2026. Guests can use a monitored private lot at 2302 Bull Street.
Flora and Fauna opened in May 2024 in the corner building where Cheryl and Griffith Day ran Back in the Day Bakery from 2002 to February 2024. It belongs to FARM Hospitality Group, with chef Brandon Carter as a partner. Carter told Garden & Gun that Cheryl's biscuit would stay on the menu. The daytime side is a bakery and coffee house using flour from Anson Mills.
Foxy Loxy calls itself equal parts coffee shop, bakery and Tex-Mex cantina, with hand-made tacos and locally roasted coffee. It hosts artist receptions on the first Friday of each month and live music around the fire pits in its courtyard. The E. Shaver Starland book clubs meet here. Savannah Magazine readers named it runner-up for Coffee Shop in 2026.

Garden Square opened in November 2025 behind 2400 Bull, reached through a courtyard off 40th Street. Savannah Magazine credits owners Jake Grier and David Winer and bar manager Natasha Conyers, and describes creative cocktails with vegetable-forward cooking. The room has hand-painted murals inside and a planted patio outside.
Green Truck says it was founded on a simple premise: Savannahians deserve a casual place to eat and drink well. The kitchen makes its own ketchup, pimento cheese, salad dressing and veggie patties, and the burgers use grass-fed beef from Hunter Cattle. It takes no reservations, no call-ahead seating and no private events. Savannah Magazine readers named it runner-up for both Burger and Salad in 2026.
Henny Penny calls itself a family friendly art space combined with baked goods and craft coffee, built to celebrate and support the parent tribe. Savannah Magazine describes children working on a weekly rotating art project that costs $14. It belongs to the Foxy Loxy family, alongside Foxy Loxy Cafe and The Coffee Fox.
Late Air describes itself as a neighborhood restaurant and wine bar on the corner of Bull and Victory. It pours a rotating list of natural wines beside seasonal menus by chef Daniel Harthausen, from small snacks to plates for sharing. The same team opened Specials Pizza nearby in September 2026. Savannah Magazine readers placed it runner-up (tie) for Wine List in 2026.
Lone Wolf describes itself as 'a neighborhood watering hole in Savannah, GA's Starland District.' It opens at 11 in the morning and pours until 1am, six days a week. Connect Savannah readers named it a finalist for best overall bar and best Starland District bar in 2022.

Vittoria is the pizzeria inside Starland Yard. Starland Yard lists it as one of its three permanent kitchens. Its own site calls it a New York style pizzeria.
A place on East 41st Street that describes itself as a little neighborhood cafe. In the May 2026 lunch thread one local was indignant that nobody had named it yet.
Sly's calls itself The Mecca of Mini. The menu runs to more than 18 sliders ... beef, pulled pork, chicken, hot dogs and vegetarian ... with hand-cut fries, and the sliders carry names like Tobacco Road and The Uncle Reuben. Savannah Magazine readers named it runner-up for Cheap Eats in 2026.
A neighborhood restaurant and wine bar in the Starland District. Ryan Ribeiro and Jason Restivo became partners here in September 2023 ... the site says Ryan had been one of the most loyal customers at Jason's restaurant Atlantic, which closed in 2020. Ryan, who is of Portuguese descent, chose the name, a word for the time spent lingering at the table after a meal. Savannah Magazine readers voted it best wine list in 2026.
Specials is a pizzeria and bar from the Late Air team ... Colin Breland, Madeline Ott and chef Daniel Harthausen. It opened in September 2026 on a side street off Bull, selling slices and whole pies, calzones, meatballs and a chopped salad. One of its four specialty pies is mushroom, garlic and creme fraiche.

Starland Yard is a food park with a full bar, three built-in kitchens and rotating food trucks, made for groups who cannot agree on what to eat. Pizzeria Vittoria is Kyle Jacovino's naturally leavened pizza, fermented up to 48 hours and baked in a Moretti Forni hearth oven. Uncle June's is Reid Henninger's sandwich counter and T-Rex Barbecue smokes on site. Savannah Magazine sends families here for giant Jenga on artificial turf, cornhole and, in summer, a small blow-up water slide.
T-Rex Barbecue is one of three built-in kitchens at Starland Yard and the sibling of the sandwich counter Uncle June's. Starland Yard says everything is smoked daily on site in a 500-gallon wood-fired pit ... beef brisket, smoked wings, a fried chicken sandwich ... and served with Tex-Mex sides of rice, beans, fresh salsas and tortillas. The venue does not name the wood.
Brothers Joshua and Michael Sexton opened this Irish pub on 10 October 2025 in a 1930s house that used to hold Troupial Cafe. The kitchen cooks Irish street food ... fish and chips, bangers and mash, sausage rolls, pasties and a spice bag of fried chicken, fries and vegetables tossed in a curry five-spice mix. There is a smaller room upstairs and a big backyard. The pub says it cooks without seed or vegetable oils.

The Vault is set in a former neighborhood bank. The venue says the bank served Savannahians for over 50 years before the Rhino Hospitality Group turned it into an Asian fusion and sushi room. The old strongroom lends its name to The Vault Room, a private space for parties. Savannah Magazine readers voted it best Sushi and best Business Lunch in 2026.
The Wormhole calls itself 'your favorite neighborhood dive and music venue', a casual place 'with an artistic flair and charm.' It says it may host 'a concert of any genre you can think of (metal, swing, country, punk, electronic, flamenco...)', plus stand up comedy and a long-running open mic that Connect Savannah readers voted the city's best in 2022.

Ukiyo bills itself as an izakaya and ramen bar, and says the name refers to Japanese urban lifestyle and culture. It is part of Anthony Debreceny's Southern Cross Hospitality, the group behind The Collins Quarter, and opened in 2022. It sits a few doors from its younger sister Fishbar. Savannah Magazine readers named it runner-up in the Japanese category in 2026.
Victory North bills itself as 'Savannah's premier venue for live music & private events', with three floors and a courtyard. The fall 2026 calendar runs from The Brook and the Bluff and Gaelic Storm in mid October through comedy from Kyle Kinane, a haunted improv show, a Halloween party and Pop Evil in December. Savannah Magazine readers voted it best live music venue in 2026.
