1540 Room is the dining room of The DeSoto hotel on Madison Square. The name points to Hernando de Soto's expedition through the Southeast in 1540 and the spice trade that followed. Chef Collin Clemons cooks seasonal Lowcountry menus from local farms, and the hotel says he was named the city's best chef less than a year after opening. Savannah Magazine readers voted it the best fine dining room in the city for 2026.
An inn with a dining room and a separate tavern that keeps its own hours. The inn says the tavern opens daily at 4pm and closes by 11pm, with food during kitchen hours.

45 Bistro has been the dining room of The Marshall House hotel since 2001, the third home of a restaurant Sandy Hollander has run since the mid 1980s. Eat It and Like It reported on September 14, 2026 that it will leave the hotel when the year ends ... the last service is December 31, 2026. The hotel sold on June 1, 2026 and its new owners plan to remake the space in 2027. The team has said it hopes to reopen elsewhere in Savannah. 45 Bistro is open now and has said it will leave The Marshall House on 31 December 2026.

A side-street bar a block off Bay Street. Eat It and Like It (14 May 2024): 'This bar's claim to fame? Art. In the form of hundreds of renditions of Abraham Lincoln drawn (by locals and tourists alike) on cocktail napkins.' The same piece says it has seating inside and out and is dog-friendly.

The address is a lane, not a street ... Broughton Lane runs behind the shops on West Broughton. The bar calls itself 'a classy 1870's hidden gem basement bar highlighting Savannah's deepest library collection of fine spirits and cocktails.' Visit Savannah says the cocktail menu is large enough to fill a newspaper. In Savannah Magazine (13 April 2026) bar manager Chris Schofield called it just a bar in a basement with good vibes and better cocktails.

A burger shop on Habersham that calls itself Savannah's late-night burger spot and posts hours until five in the morning. It is the first local name people give when someone asks where to eat after midnight. Opinion on the food is split ... fans go for the oddities like fried sandwiches, and a few commenters are blunt that they do not rate it.

Eat It and Like It (14 January 2024) calls it 'Bay Street's only dive bar' and 'Savannah's only dive bar located ON the parade route'. It wrote that 'the locals will tell you they try to avoid touristy Bay Street. They don't avoid Bay Street Blues.' The bar had just turned 20, and is known for karaoke and $1 jello shots the owner makes weekly. It opens at 8pm and only four nights a week.

Betty Bombers is a counter-service diner inside American Legion Post 135, just south of Forsyth Park. The room is done up in what the venue calls a WWII inspired atmosphere. It offers counter service, delivery and takeout, and the kitchen runs until 2am Thursday through Saturday.

A bar, kitchen and ten duckpin lanes in the basement of the old Woolworth's building on Broughton Street. Savannah Agenda reported it opened on 7 March 2025 under Harley Krinsky and Chris Godfrey, who also own Congress Street Social Club and Sorry Charlie's Oyster Bar, with food from the Sorry Charlie's kitchen. Garden and Gun (April/May 2026) called it 'one of Savannah's welcoming small concert venues' for regional rock, funk and blues.

A Wilmington Island neighborhood bar and grill on Johnny Mercer Boulevard that opens at 10 in the morning and pours until 2am on weeknights. Savannah Magazine readers voted it runner-up for best dive bar in the 2026 Best of Savannah list, behind The Original Pinkie Masters. Happy hour runs Monday to Friday, 4pm to 7pm.

Hitch is the sister room to Treylor Park, the Savannah-born group that also runs Double Wide Diner, Pizza Party and Beach Party on Tybee. The group describes the room as reminiscent of a whisky library or a chic, modern saloon, with wood ceilings and copper accents. It stays open until 1am every night and has its own brunch menu.

Connect Savannah covered the room when it opened as the Mint To Be Bubbly Bar: it is reached through 'a custom-made bookcase doorway', built by owner Alton Brecker, who opened the mojito bar with Mary Githens of Latin Chicks. Visit Savannah now lists the room as La Aparicion: 'by night, La Aparición transforms into something entirely moody and otherworldly'.

Lone Wolf describes itself as 'a neighborhood watering hole in Savannah, GA's Starland District.' It opens at 11 in the morning and pours until 1am, six days a week. Connect Savannah readers named it a finalist for best overall bar and best Starland District bar in 2022.

A dessert bar that pairs baking with bartending: cakes, chocolates, coffee drinks and cocktails late into the evening. Rebecca Radovich and Janine Finn opened it in 2007, and the bar says it has won a local best desserts award 16 years in a row. A second, smaller Lulu's is on Whitemarsh Island at 4700 US Hwy 80 E.

Savannah's karaoke pub. McDonough's says it has been voted best karaoke in the city for more than a decade, and it runs every day starting at 9pm. Savannah Magazine describes the shamrock green awning, two bars, 32 televisions and decades of guest photos on the walls. Visit Savannah counts 'three unique destinations under one historic roof': the bar, a steakhouse called Billy's Place and The Inn at McDonough's. The kitchen cooks until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Nickie's is a bar and grill on Butler Avenue at the south end, one block from Tybrisa Street. The Main Street directory posts it open until 3 a.m. every night, which makes it one of the latest kitchens-and-bars on the island by posted hours. It took part in Tybee Island Restaurant Week in August 2026.

A small Irish pub owned by Dan O'Connell. Savannah Magazine describes a room built for talking, with no TVs and no DJ, Gaelic football jerseys and Irish road signs on the walls, a five dollar pint of Guinness and visits from traditional fiddle players. The Black Rabbit is a sandwich shop with a full bar on Barnard Street, across from the Streamliner diner car. The short menu is six sandwiches ... Smoked Turkey, Cubano, Three Piggies, Van Gogh, Club and an Eggplant Stacker ... plus a salad. It stays open until 1am most nights.

The Grove calls itself a 'sophisticated casual restaurant & rooftop bar' in City Market and a 'Savannah home away from home.' It serves Southern-leaning lunch and dinner, then stays open as a bar until 3am on Friday and Saturday.

Savannah Magazine (13 April 2026) lists The Hideaway as the company's speakeasy bar, beside its 'Savannah Speakeasy' escape room, and quotes bartender Nefeli Feyd. The company's own site says people without a game booking are welcome: 'whether you are waiting for your group to finish or just passing through you are more than welcome to hang up front with us!' It has board games.

The Hot Eye is the lower-level bar of the Municipal Grand hotel, and it publishes a lane address rather than the hotel's street address. Savannah Magazine (13 April 2026) called it the newest of the city's underground lounges, with 'a sleek black bar and red walls', and quoted head bartender Alexis Cooper saying it is meant to be a place for Savannah, naming the SCAD community and people who work in the industry. It opens four nights a week only.

Eat It and Like It calls it 'THE Savannah dive bar': 'Pinkie's (named for original owner Luis Christopher Masterpolis, more widely known as Pinkie) has been pouring PBRs since 1951.' The same piece corrects the famous story. Jimmy Carter did not announce his run here. On a 1978 visit he slipped out a side door of the DeSoto Hotel, walked the 30 yards over, stood on the bar and thanked Pinkie for his support. A star marks the spot. The Rail Pub says its building 'has been everything from a watering hole for railroad laborers, to a boarding house and a brothel since its opening in 1890.' Karaoke runs, in the pub's words, 'every damn night @ 9pm.' Fridays are Free Fried Chicken Fridays with live music in the yard, and the website counts down the days to St. Patrick's Day. Happy hour lasts all day on Monday.

Brothers Joshua and Michael Sexton opened this Irish pub on 10 October 2025 in a 1930s house that used to hold Troupial Cafe. The kitchen cooks Irish street food ... fish and chips, bangers and mash, sausage rolls, pasties and a spice bag of fried chicken, fries and vegetables tossed in a curry five-spice mix. There is a smaller room upstairs and a big backyard. The pub says it cooks without seed or vegetable oils.
