1540 Room is the dining room of The DeSoto hotel on Madison Square. The name points to Hernando de Soto's expedition through the Southeast in 1540 and the spice trade that followed. Chef Collin Clemons cooks seasonal Lowcountry menus from local farms, and the hotel says he was named the city's best chef less than a year after opening. Savannah Magazine readers voted it the best fine dining room in the city for 2026.
An inn with a dining room and a separate tavern that keeps its own hours. The inn says the tavern opens daily at 4pm and closes by 11pm, with food during kitchen hours.
A Bay Street wine bar named for its street number. The bar adds that 208 'symbolizes manifesting wealth and abundance' and then admits, 'It's also our address.' 45 Bistro has been the dining room of The Marshall House hotel since 2001, the third home of a restaurant Sandy Hollander has run since the mid 1980s. Eat It and Like It reported on September 14, 2026 that it will leave the hotel when the year ends ... the last service is December 31, 2026. The hotel sold on June 1, 2026 and its new owners plan to remake the space in 2027. The team has said it hopes to reopen elsewhere in Savannah. 45 Bistro is open now and has said it will leave The Marshall House on 31 December 2026.

Katie Bryant and Mark Ekstrom, both from Pennsylvania, opened Auspicious in Sandfly in 2017 as a Sundays-only bakery. In March 2024 they bought the former Paula Deen's Creek House on Whitemarsh Island, announcing it with 'We bought a restaurant, y'all ... a big one'. That building now holds a second bakery counter and their brunch restaurant, Bread & Butter. Sand Cat Coffee on Tybee sells their ice cream, by one account.
Kay Heritage started Big Bon in 2016 as a wood-fired pizza pop-up and grew it into a bodega serving scratch-made bagel sandwiches, Korean-inspired pizza and bowls. The shop calls itself veteran-owned and says it bakes with non-GMO flour and local honey and uses no seed oils. Its site carries a '2026 Georgia Small Business ROCK STAR' badge, and Savannah Magazine readers named it runner-up for Bagel in 2026.
Clary's grew out of a drugstore, by its own account, and now serves breakfast all day from a corner on Abercorn Street. There is outside seating, and dogs at the outdoor tables get free treats ... only ADA service animals are allowed inside. Savannah Magazine readers made it the 2026 runner-up for breakfast.
The Collins Quarter's second room sits inside Forsyth Park itself, with a large patio on the park and a to-go window for coffee. It is a daytime place ... food stops at 3pm. The group books weddings, rehearsals and corporate gatherings here. Savannah Magazine readers named it the best non-waterfront outdoor dining in the city for 2026.
Flora and Fauna opened in May 2024 in the corner building where Cheryl and Griffith Day ran Back in the Day Bakery from 2002 to February 2024. It belongs to FARM Hospitality Group, with chef Brandon Carter as a partner. Carter told Garden & Gun that Cheryl's biscuit would stay on the menu. The daytime side is a bakery and coffee house using flour from Anson Mills.
Foxy Loxy calls itself equal parts coffee shop, bakery and Tex-Mex cantina, with hand-made tacos and locally roasted coffee. It hosts artist receptions on the first Friday of each month and live music around the fire pits in its courtyard. The E. Shaver Starland book clubs meet here. Savannah Magazine readers named it runner-up for Coffee Shop in 2026.

Libby Miller and Gay Fortson started Friendship Coffee in 2013 as a wholesale roaster and later opened the cafe on Wilmington Island. It serves locally roasted coffee, pastries baked that day, breakfast and lunch, with recipes the site says are made from scratch daily. There is a small shop of local goods inside. Closed Wednesdays.
Gallery Espresso opened around 1993 and calls itself Savannah's oldest coffee shop. It spent its first ten years in a basement, then moved in 2003 into a circa 1859 building at the south end of Chippewa Square. The walls work as a gallery ... the fall 2026 show is 'The Reckoning' by Mr Mahaffey, up through Halloween. There is seating outside and fireplaces inside.
Goose Feathers has served breakfast, lunch and its own baked goods beside Ellis Square since 1986.
Henny Penny calls itself a family friendly art space combined with baked goods and craft coffee, built to celebrate and support the parent tribe. Savannah Magazine describes children working on a weekly rotating art project that costs $14. It belongs to the Foxy Loxy family, alongside Foxy Loxy Cafe and The Coffee Fox.
Kayak Kafe's own site names three principles ... health-conscious wholesome food, fresh daily preparation without preservatives or artificial additives, and 100 percent compostable to-go products. VegOut describes a vegan taco bowl with walnut meat and a lentil burger. The Broughton Street room sits at the corner of Bull, with a second room in Midtown.
Kayak Kafe is a Savannah pair, with this Midtown room at Paulsen and 66th and an older one downtown at 1 East Broughton. The kitchen says the food is made fresh daily with no preservatives or artificial flavors or colors, and that it gladly works around vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets. To-go containers are 100 percent compostable. Savannah Magazine readers voted Kayak best Salad, best Vegan and best Vegetarian in 2026.
A soul food cafe opened by four siblings in memory of their mother, Kimberly, who died in 2021. The venue calls itself the home of the Oxtails and Grit Bowl and says it looks out for homeless families in the community. A local's post about the meatloaf drew one of the bigger food threads of the year, with others chiming in on the oxtails, shrimp and grits, and spaghetti made on Sundays and Wednesdays.
Leopold's has been making ice cream in Savannah since 1919, and Visit Savannah calls the Broughton Street shop a vintage soda shop for a taste of nostalgia. The flavor list carries a full vegan line labeled as such ... vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, mocha, coconut, mint chocolate chip, coffee chocolate chip and peanut butter chippy ... plus five sorbets. There is a second scoop shop on Whitemarsh Island.
A dessert bar that pairs baking with bartending: cakes, chocolates, coffee drinks and cocktails late into the evening. Rebecca Radovich and Janine Finn opened it in 2007, and the bar says it has won a local best desserts award 16 years in a row. A second, smaller Lulu's is on Whitemarsh Island at 4700 US Hwy 80 E.

The Mate Factor is a yerba mate cafe on Hall Street, a few blocks east of Forsyth Park, and the Savannah outpost of a small group of cafes under the same name. It closes Friday afternoon and stays closed Saturday.
Mirabelle makes Liege waffles and serves them with specialty coffee and paninis from a vintage 1800s-era building across from the Cathedral of St. John. It also keeps what it calls a chocolate library of bean-to-bar bars, and rents four suites upstairs. No reservations.
Origin runs its cafe and its roastery from the same building on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and the coffee it serves every day is roasted there by its own team. It has a second cafe on Hilton Head Island. Savannah Magazine readers named it the best coffee shop in the city for 2026.
PERC is a Savannah coffee roaster, and the East Broad Street shop is the one it describes as 'where the magic happens.' The counter pours house drinks like the Good Times Latte and the Happy Camper, with pastries from Auspicious Baking Co. and breakfast sandwiches. A sandwich shop and coffee roastery from co-owners Peter Patel and Jay Trikha, with Michael Pritchard consulting and Derek Fullmer as chef. It serves breakfast and lunch only. The same partners are behind Elsewhere, a much larger room planned for Bay Street late in 2026.
Sand Cat is a coffee shop and cafe on First Street, the stretch of US 80 that brings everyone onto the island. Visit Tybee lists it in its Made in Tybee guide as a shop found only on the island, serving espresso drinks, seasonal specials and pastries. It joined Tybee Island Restaurant Week in August 2026.
Savannah Coffee Roasters says it has been roasting for more than 100 years, and its Liberty Street cafe sells the house blends by the cup and by the bag ... Captain's Choice, Swamp Fox Espresso, Tybee Island Coconut. Savannah Magazine readers named it the city's best coffee roaster for 2026.
A place on East 41st Street that describes itself as a little neighborhood cafe. In the May 2026 lunch thread one local was indignant that nobody had named it yet.
The Coffee Fox roasts all of its coffee in Savannah and is the downtown sibling of Foxy Loxy Cafe and Henny Penny Cafe. Visit Savannah notes its Mexican-inspired signature drinks.
The Collins Quarter is the original room of a Savannah-born group that also runs Collins Quarter at Forsyth, The Fitzroy, The Deck, Ukiyo, Fishbar and Doki Doki Ice Creamery. It serves what it calls Aussie-inspired brunch and dinner, with brunch every day. Brunch is walk-in only ... the house does not take brunch reservations. Savannah Magazine readers named it the best breakfast in the city for 2026 and the runner-up for brunch.

Kelli Pearson and Kristin Russell opened The Sentient Bean in 2001 at the south end of Forsyth Park, and the cafe's motto is brewing coffee and community since then. All of the coffee is organic and fair trade, the kitchen buys from local farmers, and the shop composts, recycles glass and is an EPA Green Power Partner. At night it turns into a small stage for live music, drag and burlesque shows, film nights, and an open mic on the first and third Tuesday run with Savannah Pride Center.

The Sugar Shack is the ice cream stop on First Street, also serving coffee drinks, pastries and desserts, the AJC noted in August 2026. The Main Street directory marks it pet friendly. It was one of eight Tybee Island Restaurant Week participants that month.
The Surfing Goat is a coffee and bagel shop on Tybrisa Street, the short strip that runs to the pier. WTOC listed it among the eight Tybee Island Restaurant Week participants in August 2026.
Tybean is a small coffee bar hung with local art, in the same US 80 cluster as Huc-A-Poos. Visit Tybee says its beans are roasted by Dancing Goats Coffee in Atlanta, and the menu covers espresso drinks, cold brew, nitro, teas, frappes and smoothies. It closes at 1 p.m.
Belinda Baptiste, a self-taught baker, has run Unforgettable Bakery in the Forest Park Shopping Center since 2009. The bakery draws on her Haitian-American heritage and sells breads, cakes and home-brewed juices. The site says it works with local youth, young adults and people without housing. Baptiste was a James Beard Award semifinalist for Outstanding Bakery in 2023, according to the bakery.
Yia Yia's says it set out to be a neighborhood Greek restaurant that feels like Grandma's house on a Sunday. The kitchen serves gyros, Greek lasagna, spanakopita and falafel, and the market side sells Greek wines, olive oil, coffee and jams beside a bakery case. Savannah Magazine readers named it runner-up for Mediterranean in 2026.
