1540 Room is the dining room of The DeSoto hotel on Madison Square. The name points to Hernando de Soto's expedition through the Southeast in 1540 and the spice trade that followed. Chef Collin Clemons cooks seasonal Lowcountry menus from local farms, and the hotel says he was named the city's best chef less than a year after opening. Savannah Magazine readers voted it the best fine dining room in the city for 2026.

45 Bistro has been the dining room of The Marshall House hotel since 2001, the third home of a restaurant Sandy Hollander has run since the mid 1980s. Eat It and Like It reported on September 14, 2026 that it will leave the hotel when the year ends ... the last service is December 31, 2026. The hotel sold on June 1, 2026 and its new owners plan to remake the space in 2027. The team has said it hopes to reopen elsewhere in Savannah. 45 Bistro is open now and has said it will leave The Marshall House on 31 December 2026.

Visit Savannah says the cocktail menu is large enough to fill a newspaper. In Savannah Magazine (13 April 2026) bar manager Chris Schofield called it just a bar in a basement with good vibes and better cocktails.

A cocktail bar in a restored landmark on Bull Street. The bar says the building was 'erected in 1896' on the site of the Georgia Hussars' former armory. It is a Daniel Reed Hospitality room, the Savannah group behind Public Kitchen and Bar, and its line on itself is 'It's Not So Old Fashioned.'
The tiki bar inside the Sorry Charlie's Oyster Bar building on Ellis Square. Sorry Charlie's describes it as 'an immersive tropical oasis designed by true tiki aficionados.' It keeps the same hours as the oyster bar downstairs, 11am to midnight every day.
Eat It and Like It (14 January 2024) calls it 'Bay Street's only dive bar' and 'Savannah's only dive bar located ON the parade route'. It wrote that 'the locals will tell you they try to avoid touristy Bay Street. They don't avoid Bay Street Blues.' The bar had just turned 20, and is known for karaoke and $1 jello shots the owner makes weekly. It opens at 8pm and only four nights a week.

A French bistro with a pub room beside it. The venue describes 'one of Savannah's historic 19th-century spaces' with 'intricate tile floors, original architectural details, pressed-tin ceilings, and a handsome mahogany bar', and invites guests to have 'oysters and martinis at the bar' in the pub area.
Hitch is the sister room to Treylor Park, the Savannah-born group that also runs Double Wide Diner, Pizza Party and Beach Party on Tybee. The group describes the room as reminiscent of a whisky library or a chic, modern saloon, with wood ceilings and copper accents. It stays open until 1am every night and has its own brunch menu.

Live music runs Fridays and Saturdays ... blues, swing, jazz, classic rock and Americana ... and the bar says it plans to add more nights. Connect Savannah readers named it a finalist for best martini in 2022.

A second room at the back of Mint to Be Mojito Bar and Bites. Connect Savannah covered the room when it opened as the Mint To Be Bubbly Bar: it is reached through 'a custom-made bookcase doorway', built by owner Alton Brecker, who opened the mojito bar with Mary Githens of Latin Chicks. Visit Savannah now lists the room as La Aparicion: 'by night, La Aparición transforms into something entirely moody and otherworldly'.

A dessert bar that pairs baking with bartending: cakes, chocolates, coffee drinks and cocktails late into the evening. Rebecca Radovich and Janine Finn opened it in 2007, and the bar says it has won a local best desserts award 16 years in a row. A second, smaller Lulu's is on Whitemarsh Island at 4700 US Hwy 80 E.

Savannah's karaoke pub. McDonough's says it has been voted best karaoke in the city for more than a decade, and it runs every day starting at 9pm. Savannah Magazine describes the shamrock green awning, two bars, 32 televisions and decades of guest photos on the walls. Visit Savannah counts 'three unique destinations under one historic roof': the bar, a steakhouse called Billy's Place and The Inn at McDonough's. The kitchen cooks until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.

A small Irish pub owned by Dan O'Connell. Savannah Magazine describes a room built for talking, with no TVs and no DJ, Gaelic football jerseys and Irish road signs on the walls, a five dollar pint of Guinness and visits from traditional fiddle players. Visit Savannah points to its 'traditional snugs and an impressive display of Irish sports memorabilia.'

Old Savannah Distillery opened its restaurant in April 2026, pairing a full-service Southern dining room with a tasting room for house-made flavored spirits. The menu is casual Lowcountry ... fried chicken, shrimp and grits, fried green tomatoes, ribeye. It is owned by Historic Tours of America, the company behind Old Town Trolley Tours.
A Bay Street sports tavern that Visit Savannah calls a 'comforting sports bar' for 'pizza and wings with a cold beer.' It runs poker nights on Tuesdays and trivia on Thursdays.
The rooftop bar on top of the Perry Lane Hotel. The hotel describes it as a 'rooftop conservatory' pouring 'botanical cocktails and international street food' with 'sprawling views of Savannah's historic district and the sweeping skies.' Readers have voted it the city's best rooftop bar in both Connect Savannah (2022) and Savannah Magazine (2026).
The tavern is the cellar of The Olde Pink House on Reynolds Square. Wikipedia's entry on the house, which cites the restaurant's own history, records 'a cellar tavern, Planters Tavern, which features a single-table wine vault for special occasions', in a house begun in 1771 and finished in 1789. The house closed for four months after a ballroom fire in December 2018. Savannah Magazine readers voted The Olde Pink House the Shrimp and Grits winner in Best of Savannah 2026.
The rooftop bar above River Street at what is now Hotel Orielle ... the hotel says it was 'formerly the Bohemian Hotel Savannah Riverfront.' Visit Savannah describes 'sweeping Savannah River views with creative cocktails, a firepit to gather around, and an open-air setting.' Savannah Magazine readers voted it best cocktails back in 2017.
A cocktail bar on Liberty Street that Visit Savannah describes as a 'retro-cool lounge' serving 'classic cocktails and sophisticated bites.' It takes reservations, sells its own merchandise and caters. Sorry Charlie's says its local oysters come from its own oyster farm. The building stacks three rooms ... the oyster bar at street level, a tiki bar called The Bamboo Room, and a rooftop called The Neon Fish that looks over Ellis Square. Gibbons Hall upstairs takes private parties.
The Fitzroy is a dinner room just off Bay Street with a rooftop the site invites guests to sit on in the sun, and it takes private events.
A bar inside an escape-room business. Savannah Magazine (13 April 2026) lists The Hideaway as the company's speakeasy bar, beside its 'Savannah Speakeasy' escape room, and quotes bartender Nefeli Feyd. The company's own site says people without a game booking are welcome: 'whether you are waiting for your group to finish or just passing through you are more than welcome to hang up front with us!' It has board games.

The Hot Eye is the lower-level bar of the Municipal Grand hotel, and it publishes a lane address rather than the hotel's street address. Savannah Magazine (13 April 2026) called it the newest of the city's underground lounges, with 'a sleek black bar and red walls', and quoted head bartender Alexis Cooper saying it is meant to be a place for Savannah, naming the SCAD community and people who work in the industry. It opens four nights a week only.

The rooftop bar on top of Sorry Charlie's Oyster Bar, with table seating and, in the venue's words, 'great views of Ellis Square.' It opens mid afternoon on weekdays and at 10am on weekends.
An upscale cocktail lounge downtown. Visit Savannah says it 'exudes glamour, sophistication and elegance' with 'opulent decor', pouring 'delicately curated cocktails' beside small bites. Connect Savannah readers voted it best upscale bar in 2022, ahead of Artillery and Alley Cat.
The Public sits on the corner of Bull and Liberty streets in a mid-century modern room, with many of its tables outside on the sidewalk. It is one of Daniel Reed's Savannah restaurants. The menu runs to Savannah shrimp and grits, grilled salmon and steak frites, and the site calls out vegetarian options and gluten free truffle fries. Savannah Magazine readers made it the 2026 runner-up for gluten-free options.
A bar inside the Perry Lane Hotel. Visit Savannah says it embraces 'a vibe of punk, glam, garage and rock-and-roll' with 'a rotating menu of experimental drinks'. Travel blogs describe an unmarked door, but neither the hotel nor Visit Savannah says so.
This is the original Treylor Park, the Bay Street room that grew into a Savannah-born group with Hitch, Double Wide Diner, Pizza Party and Beach Party on Tybee, plus rooms in Florida. The bar top is made from reclaimed bowling lane wood, and there is a beer garden out back ... the site's line is business in the front with the party out back. No reservations. Savannah Magazine readers voted its fries the best in the city in 2026.

Zunzibar grew out of Zunzi's, the Savannah sandwich counter that lost its York Street lease and moved to Drayton Street. The Drayton address now gives most of its room to Zunzibar, a coastal restaurant and cocktail bar, with Zunzi's takeout and catering running from the same kitchen. The brand has since opened on Tybee Island and in Jupiter and Middleton, Florida, and calls Savannah 'where it started'. The patio welcomes dogs.
