Chef Collin Clemons cooks seasonal Lowcountry menus from local farms, and the hotel says he was named the city's best chef less than a year after opening. Savannah Magazine readers voted it the best fine dining room in the city for 2026.

Live music some nights. Go before the band starts if you want to talk.

BellyUp! Savannah / Over 50

Nobody publishes the noise level, and it is the thing that decides the night.

Good places to eat and drink in Savannah, minus the nightclubs. When a spot gets loud later or draws a lot of kids, the card tells you.

10 spots

Alley Cat Lounge

Historic District North

The address is a lane, not a street ... Broughton Lane runs behind the shops on West Broughton. The bar calls itself 'a classy 1870's hidden gem basement bar highlighting Savannah's deepest library collection of fine spirits and cocktails.' Visit Savannah says the cocktail menu is large enough to fill a newspaper. In Savannah Magazine (13 April 2026) bar manager Chris Schofield called it just a bar in a basement with good vibes and better cocktails.

Go early. It turns into a late-night spot later in the evening.

Artillery

Historic District North

A cocktail bar in a restored landmark on Bull Street. The bar says the building was 'erected in 1896' on the site of the Georgia Hussars' former armory. It is a Daniel Reed Hospitality room, the Savannah group behind Public Kitchen and Bar, and its line on itself is 'It's Not So Old Fashioned.'

Broughton Street Bowl and Brew

Broughton Street · bar food

A bar, kitchen and ten duckpin lanes in the basement of the old Woolworth's building on Broughton Street. Savannah Agenda reported it opened on 7 March 2025 under Harley Krinsky and Chris Godfrey, who also own Congress Street Social Club and Sorry Charlie's Oyster Bar, with food from the Sorry Charlie's kitchen. Garden and Gun (April/May 2026) called it 'one of Savannah's welcoming small concert venues' for regional rock, funk and blues.

This is a music venue. It is loud when a show is on.

Circa 1875

Historic District North · french

A French bistro with a pub room beside it. The venue describes 'one of Savannah's historic 19th-century spaces' with 'intricate tile floors, original architectural details, pressed-tin ceilings, and a handsome mahogany bar', and invites guests to have 'oysters and martinis at the bar' in the pub area.

Crystal Beer Parlor

Historic District South · american, burgers, southern

The building at Jones and Jefferson opened in the early 1900s as the Gerken Family Grocery Store. William 'Blocko' Manning and his wife Connie bought it in the early 1930s, and the house history says it is rumored Blocko ran illegal hooch and a speakeasy during Prohibition. The Crystal calls itself one of the first American eating establishments to serve alcohol after repeal ... burgers were 30 cents and draft beer a dime. The Monroe Room is named for Monroe Whitlock, who worked there about 45 years. John Nichols runs it now, and Savannah Magazine readers picked it for the best burger in 2026.

Desposito's Seafood

Thunderbolt · seafood, lowcountry

Desposito's is the fish shack under the Thunderbolt bridge, serving since the 1960s. Connect Savannah traces it to a market run by the Walton family that Carlo Desposito bought in 1968 and put his name on; after he died in 1982, Walton Boone ran it with his son David for more than 30 years. Michelle Smith bought it in October 2020, rebuilt it over two years and reopened on August 28, 2023 with a riverside pavilion and room for about 130. The front bar is still lined with beer bottles found during the renovation. In December 2025 it closed after a staff walkout over unpaid wages, and parent company River Street Hospitality set a reopening for January 10, 2026 with new management and a menu it says goes back to fresh, local seafood.

Local 11ten

Victorian District · southern, new american, seafood

Local 11ten cooks Southern food in a restored 1950s-era bank a block south of Forsyth Park, using Georgia coast seafood and vegetables and herbs from Savannah-area farmers. Upstairs is Perch, its rooftop bar, open when the weather allows. Visit Savannah lists a private dining room for up to 40.

Perch at Local 11 Ten

Victorian District · new american

Perch is the rooftop bar above Local 11 Ten, which the restaurant says occupies 'the restored 1950's-era downtown bank'. It is open only when the weather allows. It sits on the same block as the American Legion bar, Betty Bombers and Brighter Day.

The Bootlegger

River Street · small plates

The Bootlegger is the bar inside the River Street Inn. Savannah Magazine (13 April 2026) says it has operated there since early 2024, in a building about 230 years old that the inn reports to be haunted. Its own site describes it as 'Hidden beneath Savannah's legendary River Street'. The magazine names Roosevelt's Smoked Old Fashioned as the house drink and notes a First Friday Roaring '20s night.

The Rail Pub

City Market

The Rail Pub says its building 'has been everything from a watering hole for railroad laborers, to a boarding house and a brothel since its opening in 1890.' Karaoke runs, in the pub's words, 'every damn night @ 9pm.' Fridays are Free Fried Chicken Fridays with live music in the yard, and the website counts down the days to St. Patrick's Day. Happy hour lasts all day on Monday.

Go early. It turns into a late-night spot later in the evening.
