1540 Room is the dining room of The DeSoto hotel on Madison Square. The name points to Hernando de Soto's expedition through the Southeast in 1540 and the spice trade that followed. Chef Collin Clemons cooks seasonal Lowcountry menus from local farms, and the hotel says he was named the city's best chef less than a year after opening. Savannah Magazine readers voted it the best fine dining room in the city for 2026.

45 Bistro has been the dining room of The Marshall House hotel since 2001, the third home of a restaurant Sandy Hollander has run since the mid 1980s. Eat It and Like It reported on September 14, 2026 that it will leave the hotel when the year ends ... the last service is December 31, 2026. The hotel sold on June 1, 2026 and its new owners plan to remake the space in 2027. The team has said it hopes to reopen elsewhere in Savannah. 45 Bistro is open now and has said it will leave The Marshall House on 31 December 2026.

Castaways is in the Shops at Sandfly, recently renovated and built around executive chef Kirk Blaine, a Savannah native who trained at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. The menu is seafood, wings, sandwiches and burgers with Lowcountry touches. Dogs are welcome, there is indoor and outdoor seating, and solo acts and small bands play. Its line is 'Where Everyone is Family'.

A three-level British pub on Bay Street: a basement room called Winston's Wine Cellar, a wood-paneled street-level bar and what the pub calls 'Savannah's first open-air rooftop terrace.' Social Club sums itself up as 'Good Vibes. Great Bites. Bourbon Wall Worth Climbing.' It has a large outdoor area with live music, a late-night grill and a dog friendly patio, and calls itself 'one of Savannah's preferred independent concert venues.' Driftaway has been in Sandfly since 2001, run by the husband-and-wife team of Robyn and Michele Quattlebaum. Fannie's is the pink-roofed building across from the beach on the Strand, which Visit Tybee describes as three floors of oceanfront fun. You can sit inside, streetside or upstairs on the open-air deck, where there is live music on weekends. The site calls it 'a funky little restaurant across from the beach' and says its Sunday brunch and Bloody Marys return in the fall.

Savannah native Mike McMahon opened the Flying Fish in 2007 after years in the seafood business, aiming for local traditional flavors in a relaxed room. It sits on US 80 on the way to the beach with a patio and live music on weekends. Savannah Magazine lists it for families whose children are happy with fried shrimp, the screens and the patio.

Foxy Loxy calls itself equal parts coffee shop, bakery and Tex-Mex cantina, with hand-made tacos and locally roasted coffee. North Beach Bar and Grill sits between the Tybee lighthouse and the beach, and Visit Tybee describes it as mere feet from the sand, a place that welcomes sandy toes. The cooking is seafood with a Caribbean lean ... fish and chips, shrimp, tacos and fish bites ... and the site says it buys local, sustainable seafood. There is a full bar with craft beer, patio seating and live music.

Sting Ray's is on Butler Avenue, Tybee's main strip, with what Visit Tybee describes as a spacious outdoor deck shaded by colorful beach umbrellas. The DMO lists fresh seafood and live music.

The Rail Pub says its building 'has been everything from a watering hole for railroad laborers, to a boarding house and a brothel since its opening in 1890.' Karaoke runs, in the pub's words, 'every damn night @ 9pm.' Fridays are Free Fried Chicken Fridays with live music in the yard, and the website counts down the days to St. Patrick's Day. Happy hour lasts all day on Monday.

Kelli Pearson and Kristin Russell opened The Sentient Bean in 2001 at the south end of Forsyth Park, and the cafe's motto is brewing coffee and community since then. All of the coffee is organic and fair trade, the kitchen buys from local farmers, and the shop composts, recycles glass and is an EPA Green Power Partner. At night it turns into a small stage for live music, drag and burlesque shows, film nights, and an open mic on the first and third Tuesday run with Savannah Pride Center.

Beach Party is the Tybee room of Savannah's Treylor Park group, opened in 2024 in the building that held the Tybee Island Social Club. Cofounder Trey Wilder lived on Tybee for four years and told tybeeisland.com he did not want to lose any of the old club's character. The renovation added a bigger deck, a longer bar, more parking and a walk-up window for people coming off the beach. The patio has a sandpit for kids, and the week includes trivia on Wednesdays and live music.

Tubby's sits on River Drive in Thunderbolt, looking across at the Wilmington River where the shrimp boats dock. The kitchen is known for fried shrimp and fresh catch done grilled, fried, blackened, broiled or steamed. The week has a rhythm of its own: live music Thursday through Sunday, line dancing on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5, bingo on Wednesdays at 7. It belongs to Savannah's Live Oak Restaurant Group, which also runs Molly McGuire's on Wilmington Island.

Wexford takes its name from County Wexford, because, the pub says, more than half of Georgia's Irish emigrants in the famine years of the mid-1800s came from that county. The interiors were imported from Ireland. Co-owner Jennifer Strickland took a 10-day eating tour of Ireland to shape the menu, then spent 18 months developing dishes with chefs Jason Cummings and Dustin Hambrick. The pub books live Irish music and a courtyard lineup of local players, and Savannah Magazine readers voted it best pub in 2026.
